Neutral density (or ND) filters produce a grey neutral tone and are used in photography to reduce light, enabling more control over exposure and depth of field without affecting color contrast. ND Blenders (sometimes called attenuators) are similar to graduated filters but have no clear area, and there is a gradual transitions from the bottom of the filter to the top from a light density to heavier. This 0.3 filter reduces light by 1 stop. The filters are made from the highest quality 1.5mm optical resin. The filter is available in 67mm, 85mm, 100MM, 150mm and 165mm sizes.

  • Made from the highest quality optical resin available, with an index of refraction nearly identical to the finest optical glass
  • High scratch resistance, low material fatigue, and chamfered corners to resist breakage so the filter will provide years of service
  • Made in the UK using the world's most advanced, computer-controlled filter manufacturing technologies.

Blenders feature an effect transition that occurs over the length of the entire filter. The effect begins on one edge of the filter and transitions across the entire filter to the other edge. This allows for a graduated effect across your image without any specific horizon line.

Graduated filters have an effect that occurs on one area of the filter and transitions to clear on other areas of the filter. Typically graduated filters are used to enhance the sky or terrain, or balance the luminosity of the sky to the luminosity of the terrain. For hard and soft grad filters, colors are often deployed (such as sunset or twilight) to enhance the color of the sky.

Roughly speaking soft edge grad filters are for wide angle lenses and hard edge filters are for longer lenses. This gives the most visually attractive effect transition at the horizon line. Blenders are designed to have no specific horizon line, the simply reduce in density from the top to the bottom of the filter. The Blender is a fantastic on-camera visual effect and an effective problem solver for scenes with high dynamic range.

  • Manufactured to scientific standards using the highest grade of optical resin or Schott Superwite glass.
  • Chamfered corners to minimize breakage and maximize the lifespan of the product.
  • Rectangular so that the effect can be adjusted by moving the filter up or down in the filter tray
